95/98/ME Dial Up Settings |
To configure your
jamadots.com connection you will need to:
Open My
Computer on your desktop by double clicking it.
Double click the Dial-up Networking icon, Step 1.
Double click
Make
New Connection, Step 2.

Continue by typing jamadots in the appropriate box, Step 3.
The device listed is the name of your modem,
DO NOT CHANGE THIS SETTING.
Click next. |

Leave the area
code blank and type your Local Access Number
phone number, Step 4. Click next. |

You will see a message stating that
you have created a new dial-up called jamadots. Click Finish. |

Dial Up Networking window
now reflects the new dial up called jamadots Step 5.
Put your cursor on jamadots and Right click your mouse button once.
It will bring you to a small drop down menu, click the Properties option.

Make sure the telephone number reflects your
LOCAL dial up
number, which can be found above. Make
sure “Use area code and Dialing Properties” box (Step 6) is not
checked unless ***you must place a long distance call to access the server. |

Click the second option tab “Server Types” and match the
settings to those below shown in Step 7. |

Hit OK, hit OK again, then
close Dial Up networking. |

On your desktop should be a blue ‘e’
with a swirl around it or a globe with a magnifying glass labeled
‘Internet Explorer’. Put your
mouse over the icon and right click. You will see a drop down menu, click Properties.
You will then see the screen below: set your home page to http://www.jamadots.com, Step 9. |

Continue by clicking the Connections tab
at the top. Highlight the jamadots
connection by clicking on it once and click the Set Default button then
choose the Always dial my default connection, Step 10, as pictured
below.
(note these settings are for
those connecting with a modem and telephone line.) |

While jamadots is
highlighted, click Settings . Enter
your user name and password, Step 11. Remember
both of these fields are case sensitive, enter small case letter as small case
and upper case letters as upper case. Click
OK. |

Then
click Apply and OK. You
are now ready to connect to the internet with your new Internet provider
jamadots! You will access the Internet by clicking on the blue e
or the globe internet explorer icon on your desk top. |
